We at Brentwood Lions work hard to raise funds to help people in our local community and we do this by either donating funds raised to worthy causes or individuals to help improve the services being provided or the quality of lives.
The lions also provide huge amount of their individual time to assist the community for example for over 30 years we took our turn along with some of the other service clubs in Brentwood to provide a driver and helper to transport members of Brentwood PHAB (Physically Handicapped & Able Bodied) Club to their social centre in Warley for evening events. The use of the minibus which has been modified to be able to take wheelchair users ensured that they are able to maintain a social life regardless of any disability. This was very important to them and all it takes is a few people to give a little of their time.
There are a number of local causes that we assist and many individuals that we have supported such as young Sadie May Fisk, an individual with cerebral palsy . We raised £5,000 to part fund an operation to enable her to walk. We seek to assist where funding is not available from the NHS
