We at Brentwood Lions work hard to raise funds to help people in our local community and we do this by either donating funds raised to worthy causes or individuals to help improve the services being provided or the quality of lives.
The lions also provide a huge amount of their individual time to assist the community for example we
take our turn along with some of the other service clubs in Brentwood to provide a driver and helper to transport members of Brentwood PHAB (Physically Handicapped
& Able Bodied) Club to their social centre in Warley for evening events. The use of the minibus which has been modified to be able to take the PHAB members ensures that they are able to maintain
a social life regardless of any disability. This is very important to them and all it takes is a few people to give a little of their time.
There are a number of local causes that we assist and many individuals that we support such as Taylor Goatier who is a young lady who has brittle bone syndrome who we heard of her ambition to go to University to study Fine Art, a skill that she would be well capable of practicing. The drawback however was that to enable her to get around the University Campus, she needed a vehicle specifically made for persons with disabilities, such as Tayler's The cost however, was prohibitive for her and her family so the lions made a donation for her to have a mobility scooter.
